Why I created this Course

This is my solo female travel story.

Hi, I’m Katie, and I never thought I could travel solo.

For years, I believed my anxiety, PTSD, and especially social anxiety meant solo travel wasn’t for “someone like me.”

  • Crowded streets and airports overwhelm me
  • Eating alone used to feel impossible
  • I mentally rehearse before checking into a hotel
  • And on my first solo trip to Switzerland), I cried in the airport at 10pm because I wanted to go home

But I felt terrified and then went anyway — one tiny step at a time.

And somehow, that scared, anxious 18‑year‑old girl has now travelled to 24+ countries solo (and counting!)

Not because I’m fearless. And not because solo travel “fixed” me.

But because I learned how to travel with my anxiety, instead of waiting for it to disappear.

I know how isolating it feels to want to travel but also be terrified. I know what it’s like to scroll through big travel groups and think, “Is it just me who feels this anxious?”
